The car, drop off was easy.We waited for 30 min for a shuttle when finally another car rental company had to give us a ride to the Alamo counter.. The car we had, a jeep Cherokee, only had 20k Mike's,however, 1 day in the car stalled while driving... multiple times.. Two other nationally well known rental companies said they did not have any cars available to rent one way even though there were obviously like 300 cars on the lot!. The location where the reservation was made was closed, they were not able / willing to provide me or redirect me to another one of their locations that could replace the service, they told me to use a different car rental company.. I went there to get my car they said they didn’t have my reservation I told them I paid for insurance with kayak and they told me that third parties insurances don’t actually work and that I should get a refund from kayak The car was more expensive then listed on kayak by an extra $100 and the car was dirty when they brought it to me.. Vehicle was very clean and well outfitted.Due to Covid the rental offices of a number of rental agencies had been combined to a central location, a fact that was not relayed to myself or many renters as there was lots of confusion with folks picking up and dropping off vehicles.. Shuttle there when I walked out, drove to the rental car office, checked in for my car, out in car within 15 minutes!. However, there were only three cars available. When I picked up the car, the tire pressure light was lit.. Told the guy about wiper when I dropped car off...he said the wrong wiper was on car.. It was early in the AM, but they were very professional and friendly. There was a veiled threat by the rental associate that the insurance we'd purchased through Kayak left us vulnerable, and that they'd bill us for any "days" our car was unavailable if it needed repair from an accident, and that the insurance we'd purchased most likely wouldn't cover that cost.. The rental agency was supposed to have my car ready at 5 but got a car at six.. The rep sent me in the wrong direction to get the car, which when I ultimately found the car, it was boxed in between two other cars and another rep had to move a vehicle so that I could leave.. 1246 travelers who rented a car in Raleigh-Durham Airport gave the car agency they used an average rating of 7.5

Learn about North Carolina's commercial airports that offer direct and connecting service to both domestic and international destinations.
Streeter Lecka / Staff / Getty Images Location: West of Charlotte Pros: Huge variety of flight options, as it's a hub for American Airlines Cons: Massive airport means you might have a long walk for connections Distance to Uptown Charlotte: A flat-rate taxi to Uptown Charlotte costs $25 and takes 15 minutes.. Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is American Airlines second largest hub after Dallas-Fort Worth and the busiest airport in North Carolina, handling more than 50 million passengers each year. The airport is a joint civil-military operation, home of the Charlotte Air National Guard Base.. Ground transportation includes taxis and public buses.. Location: West of Greensboro Pros: Not crowded, reasonable airfare to major U.S. cities Cons: Many routes require layovers.. It flies to eight destinations nonstop, so most flights will require a layover.. The public bus takes about 35 minutes and costs $1.. Delta and American airlines fly out of Fayetteville Airport to their hubs in Atlanta and Charlotte, respectively.
These are the nine best destinations for cheap summer flights.
These new flights, in addition to several other competing airlines, have helped to keep summer flights to San Fran reasonably priced from across the nation.. At the time of writing, I was able to find mid-week nonstop flights from New York for $273 roundtrip on Delta and $88 flights from Los Angeles on JetBlue, both for travel in July.. Flights to Nashville: Several airlines are starting new flights to Nashville this summer, including Air Canada, Allegiant, Avelo Airlines, Breeze Airways, Delta, Flair Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and Swoop.. At the time of writing, I found July flights from Minneapolis as low as $208 roundtrip on Southwest and $96 Allegiant flights from Jacksonville in August.. Roundtrip flights from several major cities across the U.S. can be found in the $600s and $700s range for peak summer travel, which Google Flights suggests is between $500 – $900 cheaper than typical prices during the summer season depending on departure city.. Flights to Reykjavik: The biggest news in transatlantic travel this summer could be the return of ultra-low-cost flights via Iceland on Play.. Peak summer roundtrip flights can be found from these cities in the high $300s and $400s range, though you’ll need to pay extra for any bag larger than a personal item.. Fares from most of the U.S. will still be $1,000+ for peak summer travel but international carriers like KLM and SAS are competing with flights in the $500s to $800s range from a few major cities.. For example, I found a $533 Delta/KLM flight from Boston and a $667 SAS flight from Chicago, both for August travel.. The lowest roundtrip fares are hovering in the $200s range from most cities in the Midwest and Eastern U.S., with flights from certain cities in the Northeast and Florida falling in the $100s range.. And if you prefer to fly a major airline like Air Canada, American, Delta, United, or WestJet, fares tend to be in the $200s or $300s range from most U.S. cities, though you may see fares creep over $400 from some smaller markets or cities out west.. At the time of writing, Swoop had $127 roundtrip flights from Chicago and Delta/WestJet were selling $234 flights from Miami.
